We are the staff
and associates of the Kids In New Directions (KIND) Program.
KIND was founded in 1987. KIND provides the community's disadvantaged
children ages 4-17 with a safe place to participate and promote
positive interactions through structured activities, field trips,
tutoring, nutritious meals, guidance, mentoring and friendship
from our caring and dedicated staff and volunteers.
Many of these children become trapped in their immediate neighborhood,
not realizing the world that awaits them. The KIND program strives
to improve literacy skills, instills self-esteem, and stimulates
mental and emotional development.
In addition, we offer guidance and counseling for the children
of the low-income families and in many cases single parent homes
within our communities.
We offer an After School Program for ages 4-17 on Tuesday, Wednesday
and Thursday. We strive to make sure that each and every child
knows that they are cared about, and we provide a positive Christian
influence in their lives.
We offer assistance with school homework, art, and computer
training. The kids also participate in interactive activities
and conclude the days activities with a family-style nutritious
meal.
Our Summer program is extensive in all of the above areas mentioned.
